SEN Learning Support Assistant


Location: Dudley

Duration: Full time, ongoing temporary role

Salary: £60 – 70 per day dependant on experience


The School/role:

We are recruiting for a SEN school within the Dudley area who are seeking an LSA/LSP to work with them on a full-time basis from January. You will be supporting Special needs children at all ages.

The school is a specialist setting for PMLD, SLD, ASD and complex needs at KS1 up to KS4. The school need TA support that have experience, and strong ability within the classroom and supporting Special Needs.

You will need to be able to provide personal care and not be phased by behaviour or challenging needs. These pupils need a nurturing and caring approach to assist with their needs and learning.

You will be assisting within the classroom, supporting the teacher and providing personal care within specific care rooms in the school. Alongside this the school makes use of their hydrotherapy pool, so you will need to be able to swim and assist within the pool.

This role will run on a full-time basis.

  • Qualified Teaching Assistant or Relevant SEN Experience
  • SEN school-based experience
  • ASD, MLD, SLD, Complex, PMLD needs experience
  • Makaton, PECs experience would be beneficial
  • Must be able to swim to provide hydrotherapy support
  • Available Immediately
  • Level 1 safeguarding certificate
  • Recent school-based references
  • Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
  • Full DBS – registered on the update service
