PRU Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a pupil referral unit in the Birmingham area that are seeking an experienced full time Teaching Assistant with a background working with challenging behaviour.

If so, then please apply for this role. The school need a someone enthusiastic and hard working as this is a very challenging role. The school is catered around getting the children back into a mainstream setting where they can reach their true potential.

The teaching assistant must have experience working with SEMH, SEBD, ADHD and ASD. Any restraint training e.g. Team Teach would be amazing to have but not necessary for the role.

As part of the role, you will be working with KS3 and KS4 pupils. It will be your responsibility to support the teacher with any requirements, build rapport with the students and offer guidance.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background
  • SEND school-based Experience
  • ASD, SLD, PMLD, SPLD, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy needs experience
  • Child and Adult Workforce DBS
  • Available Immediately
  • Level 1 safeguarding certificate
  • Recent school-based references
  • Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
  • Full DBS – registered on the update service
